The simple answer is this: your project will be de-monetized, silenced, or removed due to a DMCA takedown request. Everybody learns the hard way and tries to use their favorite song by their favorite pop artist on their vacation video on YouTube that ends up getting an insane amount of views. The sad part, if royalty free music were used, you’d be making a bit of money off of that video.. but if you didn’t, you don’t get to benefit the same way.
